Legal Aid at Work (formerly Legal Aid Society–Employment Law Center) is a nonprofit, legal services organization that helps protect the legal rights of low-wage earners. Its programs and projects are designed to protect the right of low-income employees to work in a safe, respectful environment that is free from discrimination, and in compliance with the law.

In 2016, Legal Aid celebrated its 100th anniversary with an evening gala, honoring actor and activist George Takei. Mr. Takei is known for his role as Hikaru Sulu in the Star Trek television series and films. The event materials allude to Star Trek while reflecting the elegance of the black-tie gathering.
